The Dreamplace does not require to be found. Entry is involuntary.
The space chooses people by an unknown mechanism and shows up in their dreams. The dreams are not produced by the person's brain, it is described to be similar to a vision imposed from outside, distinct from common dreaming. After the appearance of the dream, the particular person find themselves falling into the dreamplace. Subject doesn't suffer from fall damage.
The selection reasons are unknown. No confirmed pattern exists among those taken. Age, background, and location have all been examined with no consistent result.
The Dreamplace is not a nightmare. It is not actively hostile. The defining propert of the place is the absence of an exit. Subjects are not in sleep state, and the Dreamplace appears to be a physical space. Actual bodies of the subjects are transported to the Dreamplace.
Biological processes continue normally. Wanderers report hunger, thirst, and fatigue over time. Long-term survivors are physiologically functional. With no visible aging.
The space does not pursue or threaten wanderers. It does not appear to communicate. It is seemingly unresponsive to the wanderers.
The Dreamplace is not exclusive to our reality. Any being capable of sleep, across any reality that coexists with this one is potentially subject to the same entry mechanism.
This is the primary explanation for the presence of entities inside the Dreamplace other than human origin. They are reportedly not produced by the place.
The total number of realities subject to selection is unknown. It is impossible to determine which reality any given arrival came from. The place receives arrivals from an undetermined number of sources non-stop.
Individuals who have been inside the Dreamplace for extended periods are identifiable to newly arrived wanderers. They have adapted, developed routines, and in many cases are not searching to find an exit.
They gather near areas they identify as entry points, locations in Level 0 where new arrivals first appear. Those waiting do so out of habit, not hope.
